Theresa Kenney
Theresa Kenney has served as the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney since 2017 when she was appointed by the Missouri State Governor. She was elected by the people of Jasper County in 2018 and again in 2022.
A graduate of Oral Roberts University (BA 1985) and the University of Missouri-School of Law (JD 1988), she began her practice of law with Blanchard, Robertson, Mitchell and Carter becoming a partner in 1995.
In May of 2005, Theresa became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Jasper County where she tried and won many felony jury trials.
In April 2014, she was awarded the Women’s Justice Award for Public Service Practitioner by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
As the Jasper County Prosecutor, Theresa is committed to the pursuit of justice, fairly, timely and effectively. She continues to work with law enforcement to hold offenders accountable and improve community safety. Additionally, she remains committed to the Jasper County Treatment Courts which help those who are trying to break the cycle of addiction and become law abiding citizens.
Theresa is a co-chair of the Missouri Supreme Court Task Force on Criminal Justice, collaborating with community leaders statewide to finds ways to improve our criminal justice system.
